Winter is here and there is no escaping the cold and wind sweeping across the Midwest. We want you to be prepared. When it's cold outside, make sure you dress warmly, layers are preferred. When the roads are snow and ice covered, slow down and take precautions when driving in order to arrive at your destination safely. When walking, do it slowly and precisely to avoid a fall. Make sure you have plenty of food, supplies, and medications on hand in the event of a blizzard. Check local weather conditions before venturing out. Most of all, BE SAFE! |

Champions in the Heartland - The VA Central Iowa Health Care System proudly announces the 24th National Veterans Golden Age Games to be held in Des Moines, Iowa on May 25 to June 1, 2010. Sponsoring the event is the Des Moines VA Medical Center along with Help Hospitalized Veterans and the Veterans Canteen Service. The entire Des Moines community and the VA Central Iowa Health Care System are excited to invite you to "let the games begin."
