CYNTHIA BREYFOGLE, FACHE


Cynthia Breyfogle was appointed as Deputy Network Director and Chief Operating Officer for the VA Midwest Health Care Network, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 23 on February 18, 2007.  VISN 23 supports veterans' health care in the states of Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and bordering states of Kansas, Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

As Deputy Director, Ms. Breyfogle is responsible for network operations including strategic and tactical planning, human resource management, business operations, finance, capital asset management, contracting, and logistics for a network serving over 285,000 veterans with a $1.8 billion dollar budget.

Ms. Breyfogle has worked for VA since 1996 with progressively more responsible assignments at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, VISN 13 Surgery/Specialty Care Service Line, and as VISN 23 Chief Business Officer.  Prior to joining the VA, she held positions with the Department of Army in Resource Management, Combat Development and Quality Management.  She is a graduate of Command and General Staff College, the Federal Inter-Agency Institute for Healthcare Executives, the Health Care Leadership Institute, and is credentialed as an Executive Career Field Candidate Mentor.

Ms. Breyfogle is a member of the Association of the United States Army, Senior Executives Association and American Society of Military Comptrollers.  She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business Administration.  She is a  Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives and board certified in healthcare management.

Ms. Breyfogle is married to COL (ret) Bill Breyfogle and they have one son Gerram.
